I’m not the kind of person that is hooked on books about junkies and alcoholics gone haywire. However, I’ve came across Clean by Amy Reed and it changed my mind a bit.
It’s a short novel (only about 250 pages) about a group of teenagers who’ve each been sent to a rehab facility for some sort of addiction. Each character has their own story that unravels throughout the novel. Even though each character has their own problems, they’ve come to find that they all have something in common that none of them would have even realized about themselves.
If you’re like me and haven’t given a drug addict story a try, start with this novel. If you’re already into them, this should be your next pick.
